About Velocity

-Established in late 2003, Velocity Servers has quickly become a leading force in the Game Server Provider (GSP) arena. Benefiting from the substantial amounts of capital available to it, Velocity Servers uses only the very best hardware and networks. Our ability to own our hardware has allowed us to stay one step ahead of the competition in all areas. Unlike our "competitors" whom are forced to pay inflated rates to rent less than optimal machines, we are able to pass the savings of owning our hardware on to you.

We do one thing, and we do it well - running high performance, high availability (no down time) game servers! We have peering agreements with the largest names in the business. Our list of providers include Savvis, Level(3), MCI, AT&T and various private peers. We do not purchase any Cogent, Verio, or resold transit. We utilize Cisco Catalyst 4948-E and 6506-SUP2 switches in each datacenter for optimal switching performance. Each switch is configured to use Cisco Express Forwarding and EtherChannel for performance, redundancy, and bandwidth aggregation.

But even the best networks can't work optimally with sub-par hardware. So we've made sure that we have the best in both aspects. Our minimum server specifications are so high that they rank as top hardware configurations for most other game server providers. Our minimum specifications are as follows:

We've opted for Clovertown XEONs™ solutions due to their excellent performance under load. Our tests have shown that when compared to Nocona/Irwindale Xeons/AMD Opterons™ are nearly 45% faster under when it matters most. Paired with SCSI hard drives, these machines will leave you rounds ahead of the competition on match night.

Server Connectivity

-Connectivity at all locations is provided by Cisco Catalyst series equipment. Tweaked for optimal speed, no cost has been spared ensuring the best possible performance. In the event of regional network problems, Velocity engineers can route effected customers around the issue in just minutes. While customers of other providers continue to suffer, Velocity clients will continue to frag - lag free. Our engineering team constantly works to ensure that our networks run as smoothly as possible.

In the rare event where our network fails, we have policies that protect our customers. If your service uptime falls below 99.99% due to network and/or hardware related issues you will be issued credits on your next month of service. Those credits range from a reduction in your next billing cycle to an entire month free! Refer to our SLA for details.


With plans to expand our already expansive US based presence to the global market, Velocity is your world wide partner. The European market is the next outlet for the Velocity brand - European offerings before Quarter two 2008. Clients can expect the same high quality services and connectivity US customers have come to expect in Europe by mid 2008!

Chicago: Transit services at our Chicago IL presence are provided by Server Central. Server Central continues to maintain the most heavily connected infrastructure in the greater Chicago metroplex.

New York: Being the most popular non-central hosting location in the industry, having a stable, yet high performance NYC network is crucial. We meet those expectations by utilizing the most well regarded tier 1's in the business; Savvis, Level3, AT&T and Sprint.

San Jose: Our SJC location sports AT&T, Level3, Verizon (MCI) and Savvis. Our SJC location is housed in the world class Equinix IBX datacenter.

Dallas: Internap's intelligent routing technology allows for "on the fly" routing assessment and optimizations. Simply put, Internap's patented P-NAP Architecture constantly monitors internet conditions and applies routing changes to ensure that packets follow the most direct and latency optimal path available.
