History
Nihilum was founded as a World of Warcraft guild on the Burning Blade EU realm by the renowned player, Thomas 'Kungen' Bengsston near the very start of the game, when he was the highest-levelled character at level 12. The guild was small, but quickly earned a name for itself when Kungen became the first character on the realm to reach level 60 and organized raids, even when high level characters were scarce. To bolster their ranks, Nihilum merged with a fellow competitor guild on the realm under the direction of another player known as Inc. When the first PvE race in the game for the dungeon Molten Core came around, Nihilum consistently placed within the first five world firsts with every boss. The players of the guild would never dream of what they would soon achieve.
With the release of the Ahn'Qiraq raids in one of the final patches of the original World of Warcraft, Nihilum managed to be the first to open the gates on their realm and to achieve the first European kills of the bosses leading up to the final boss, C'thun. The very final dungeon of the original World of Warcraft came around and Nihilum found that they had lost some momentum and that others were achieving world firsts. Near the closing of the battle, Nihilum hurried fast and achieved their kill of the second-to-last boss of Naxxramas soon after the world first. They managed to kill the final boss, which was Kel'Thuzad, and Nihilum became a household name for World of Warcraft.
World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade was destined to give Nihilum an even higher sense of notoriety. With an advantage of gear and natural talent, Nihilum hurried fast to level to the new level cap of 70 and began achieving world firsts of the new expansion's bosses. From Gruul's Lair all the way to Hyjal Summit, Nihilum had achieved the world first kills of all the final bosses, along with many others in between. Plus, in regards to the Black Temple fight, Nihilum managed to achieve world firsts for every boss within the instance, a feat not to be seen until the release of World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King.
After the completion of all the current content in World of Warcraft, Nihilum began to lose players, as many of their members had become exhausted, took leaves of absence, quit or removed due to misconduct. It was found that they would never again regain their momentum as Nihilum. In the early quarter of 2008, Mousesports' fellow competitor, SK Gaming had recruited Curse, a long-time opponent of Nihilum, one that had always been within arm's reach of taking Nihilum's kills. The Sunwell Plateau, the final dungeon of the expansion pack was around the corner and Nihilum was desperately recruiting to help it fight for more world firsts. With the release of the dungeon, SK Gaming beat Nihilum to the first 3 world first kills and had already made a name for itself with World of Warcraft. The final 3 bosses of the dungeon would be opened worldwide by the administrators of the game, therefore giving all players an advantage. Nihilum managed to secure the world first kill of the first of the new bosses, but SK took the last two, ending Nihilum's long-time spree of world firsts for final bosses.
Meanwhile, Mousesports had recruited a new PvP team called "Nihilum Plasma", to expand the Nihilum brand with new fronts for the organization. Nihilum Plasma had secured its place to compete at BlizzCon when it had won the World of Warcraft tournament at ESL Extreme Masters III: Global Challenge Leipzig. At BlizzCon, the PvP players Carekoala, Paperkat and Inflame, along with journalists KidArctica, Oqm and DarthBotto attended. The PvP team narrowly won through and became the Area Tournament World Champions. Unfortunately, this was at the same time that the news was spread to the Nihilum staff that the guild would be leaving Mousesports. Following this event, the guild along with all its writers left, leaving the Mousesports-powered website in poor conditions. The guild merged with the former SK Gaming PvE team to become the famed organization, Ensidia.
