"nt" is the initialism for "Nice try". When a player barely misses a shot, a frag or a kill, his teammates might say "nt" to the player to help keeping his morale up. Then again, sometimes, an opposing player might say the abbreviation to lower the other player's morale. In exemple: "nt you noob".
