Hacking in gaming is when a player cheats by using third-party programs such as aim bots or map hacks. A player that uses these kind of programs in order to have better perfomances is called a hacker. In tournaments or leagues, hacking is illegal. If you get caught using a hack, you will get disqualified automatically.

"hax", "haxx" or "h4x" are gaming slang words that means the player is hacking. Here's a exemple: "Player A is hacking. He h4x."
