"Clutch" is a slang term used to describe an event in a match during which a player overcomes the odds by singlehandedly winning a round or game; often by defeating 2 or more opposing players in a critical situation (such as winning the gamepoint round).

A clutch can only occur when there is a single player left on one team, and at least 2 players on the other team.

The term "clutch" can also be used as an adjective to describe a player who consistently performs well in key man-down situations. Ronald "Rambo" Kim is a professional player who is widely regarded by fans and analysts as a "clutch" Counter-Strike player.

eg. "Wow!, that Rambo guy is a proper Clutch Gamer!"

Clutches are very often the highlight of eSports matches, and illustrate how the performance of an individual player can alter the course of a match.
