History
ClanBase was founded 1997 by Willem "Talita" Bison (Later under the nick Tal). First as a Dutch Quake 2 Deathmatch ladder, but not much later it grew to the Benelux and even Europe.
In 1998 Rob "Amsterdam Wob" Van der Veer and Filip "Godsmurf" Camerman. Was added as Co-Owners/Head Admins of ClanBase.
In the begin of 2000, in co-operation with the Dutch online gaming network GamePoint, ClanBase started the first EuroCup with Quake 3 Arena and a prize pot of 1000 Euro for the Winner.
In 2003 ClanBase announced that the EuroCup will not have any EuroCups anymore because they needed an server upgrade.
On 19 July 2005 ClanBase got sold to the Global Gaming League to resurrect the ClanBase EuroCup Lanfinals. The Willem "Killerman" Bierman and Nicolay "Nico" Ramm became the new Head Admins of ClanBase.
On 19 July 2005 ClanBase finally had a new General Manager Mads "MadUSA" Ehrhardt from Boomtown to co-ordinate GGL Europe and ClanBase.
On 7 Jan 2007 ClanBase added an independed Italian division under the command of Revengeful. Also in that month, Johan "Bleah" Brugge got promoted to Head Admin after years of service in Counter-Strike and Human Resources departments.
In Oct 2007 Johan "Bleah" Godderis decided to leave ClanBase due to personal reasons.
