Franchise history
Rookie Year - 2007
The Chicago Chimera's general manager Brian "DKT" Flander had the fifth pick in the first ever CGS draft that was held at the Playboy Mansion on June 12th, 2007. His first pick was the World Cyber Games gold medalist Wesley "Ch0mpr" Cwiklo. He then choosed another Project Gotham Racing 3 player, Jason "JaSoN-X" Exelby.
In the first season of play, Chicago Chimera came strong considering they were short two Counter-Strike: Source players. They had to pick up two other players from their taxi team: Erik "da_bears" Stromberg and Justin "sunman" Summy. At the end of the first season of the CGS, they took first place with a record of 8 wins and 4 losses. They won the playoffs against the Carolina Core with only one point making it 22 points to 21. World Championship came and they won every single came to become the first franchise ever to win the Dew Trophy against the Carolina Core again but this time with a convincing 27-15.
