Bait

Bait is a word used to describe a gaming situation during which a player intentionally allows or forces another teammate into a tactically disadvantaged position. The intent is to discover the position of the opposing player(s), and/or to distract attention towards the teammate, thereby allowing the first player to attack the opposing player by surprise, and with little fear of retaliation.
Baiting typically results in the unnecessary injury or death of teammates, and is a generally frowned upon practice. However, some teams have successfully used baiting as a tactic during competitive match-play.
Baiting is also a common practice on public gaming servers.
